Please read these terms carefully before using Seccret. By accessing or using the service, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Seccret, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the service.
2. Description of Service
Seccret is a zero-knowledge password manager that encrypts your data on your device before it reaches our servers. We provide:
- Encrypted credential and secure note storage
- End-to-end encrypted sharing between users
- Two-factor authentication and passkey support
- Secure external share links (Secure Send)
- TOTP code generation and password health analysis
- Data export in standard formats (JSON, CSV)
3. User Accounts
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account password and master password
- You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms
4. Vault & Zero-Knowledge Architecture
Seccret uses a zero-knowledge architecture. This means:
- Your master password is never transmitted to or stored on our servers
- All vault data is encrypted client-side using AES-256-GCM before transmission
- We cannot recover your data if you forget your master password
- You are solely responsible for remembering your master password and storing backup codes securely
Important: If you lose your master password and backup codes, your encrypted vault data cannot be recovered. This is by design to ensure maximum security.
5. User Responsibilities
- Use a strong, unique master password (16+ characters recommended)
- Enable two-factor authentication for enhanced security
- Keep your backup codes in a safe, separate location
- Do not share your account credentials with others
- Regularly review your active sessions and trusted devices
- Comply with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction when using the service
6. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use Seccret to:
- Store content that violates any applicable law or regulation
- Attempt to circumvent security measures or access other users' data
- Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
- Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or overload the service
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Distribute malware, spam, or malicious content through shared links
7. Intellectual Property
The Seccret service, including its design, code, and branding, is protected by intellectual property laws. You retain full ownership of any data you store in your vault. We claim no rights to your encrypted data.
8. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from your Profile settings. Upon deletion:
- All your data, including vault items, encryption keys, and account information, will be permanently destroyed
- Shared items and external share links will be revoked
- This action is irreversible and cannot be undone
We may also terminate or suspend your account if you violate these terms, with notice when reasonably possible.
9. Disclaimers
- The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
- We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure
- We are not responsible for data loss resulting from forgotten master passwords, as we cannot decrypt your data
- We do not guarantee the accuracy of password health analysis or breach detection results
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Seccret and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of use, arising from your use of the service.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Seccret after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We encourage you to review these terms periodically.
12. Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms or the service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if necessary, through the appropriate legal channels in the applicable jurisdiction.
